Camping in the United States. If you really want to see the United States there is no better way than to camp it. Camping in the US brings you closer to the diverse group of people that make up this great country. Whether you explore your own state or you head off on several week vacations heading across the country like my family did when I was young. The six of us traveled around in our tent trailer. We would head out across the northern states then down the coast of California and back across the southern states then up the east coast and back to New Jersey. We would cover all this in a two week trip and include stops at several national parks along the way. I don't know how we fit it all in but I guess that was my mom's doing. I still remember the smell of her fresh home made cinnamon rolls that was our breakfast for the first few days. It made leaving at 3:00 am almost worth it. We made shorter trips down the coast and throughout the civil war battlegrounds and famous southern plantations. I think now of the number of things that I have seen and not just read about thanks to my parents camping trips. How else could they have been able to afford to take their four children around the country with what they earned? We saw so many things that my friends and their families never saw. The Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoia, White Sands, Everglades, Mt. Rushmore, Crater Lake, the Painted Desert just to name a few of the places we have camped.
